Council partners get together to promote physical activity

Councils, health boards, sporting and recreation groups from the top of the south are determined to get more people, more active, more of the time. The Regional Physical Activity Strategy was accepted as a community strategy by the Council following public consultation. It provides guidelines for the Councils and other agencies to increase physical activity – not just in recreation – but in daily life.

This regional physical activity strategy goes beyond the traditional sport or recreation that we choose to participate in. It extends to how we can be more active in the things we have to do - our jobs, our household chores and our transport.
