Why we are on social media

Our ultimate aim for using social media is to enhance the relationship we have with our stakeholders. Whether you are a Nelson resident or just visiting we would love to hear from you. Connect with us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter to access up-to-date, accurate information about Council wherever you want, whenever you feel like it.

The guidelines

We monitor our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts Monday to Friday 9am-5pm (with the exception of public holidays). If you contact us via social media during these times, we will do our best to answer as soon as possible. We may ask you to provide us with more details via phone or email to enable us to action your request

Remember you can always contact us 24/7 on (03) 546 0200 if you require an immediate response or visit our website to find information and access online services.

We openly welcome your comments and encourage discussion. We ask that you are polite and respectful with your comments and views.

We reserve the right to hide or remove harmful posts or comments from this page. This includes any post or comment containing disrespectful, rude, or abusive language; direct personal attacks or disclosure of private information or details of elected members or staff, other Facebook users or individuals; objectionable material; and unsolicited advertising, marketing or spam. We won't comment on political issues or get involved in debates.
