Avenza Maps

Avenza Maps is a mobile map app that allows you to download maps for offline use on your iOS, Android, and Windows smartphone or tablet.

Use your device's built-in location to plot and record information about locations, import and export placemarks, measure distance and area, and even plot photos. Interact with spatially referenced maps to view your location, record GPS tracks, add placemarks, and find places. Downloaded maps will be available for offline use.

Installation

To install the app onto your device use the links below or search the applicable store for 'Avenza Maps'.

Adding a map

Avenza Maps requires you to create a free account before adding a map. It may ask you for access to your location and camera.

  1. Click on the Avenza Maps tab.
  2. Click the + sign.
  3. Click the QR Code button in the upper right hand corner.
  4. Point your phone at the QR code on the map and hold still.
  5. The map will then download to your device. Tap it to start using once it has finished downloading.
