Tohu Whenua – Sites of significance
Tohu whenua is a collection of stories from our local kaumātua on place names and landmarks within the Whakatū region.
It is hoped the series will support our community to build their knowledge of place names within Whakatū, and also to promote the use of Te Reo Māori and correct pronunciation.
We wish to thank our kaumātua Jane du Feu, Barney Thomas and the late Kereopa Ratapu who enabled these resources to be available for our community. Check out the YouTube Playlist of videos.
Kia kaha Te Reo Māori! Give Te Reo Māori a go!
