Small Waste Minimisation Grants

Nelson City Council is making waste minimisation funding available for not-for-profit community activities that support waste reduction or avoidance between $100 and $500. Up to a maximum of $5000 is available until such time as the funding has been used up.

The purpose of this grant programme is to provide accessible and quick funding as and when small project opportunities occur, without having to wait for the annual funding round, which is designed for larger projects.

Examples of projects which might qualify are purchasing equipment for waste minimisation activities, attending waste minimisation events, etc.

Criteria:

Funding can only be used for projects or activities which benefit the Nelson region
Projects must align with the objectives of the Waste Management and Minimisation Plan
This funding is not available for ongoing support of ‘business as usual’ activities
